FEEDBACK (Disbelief at first, on the part of the Egyptians and Israelites, but the Israelites eventually believed Moses and went to a journey with Moses to the Promised Land)

CONTEXT:

The Israelites were under the rule of the Egyptian Pharaohs who made them work as slaves. Moses, an Israelite raised in the Pharaoh’s home, one day escaped to a province called Midian after killing a slave. There he encountered God and that’s when he was tasked to bring deliverance to the Israelites.

During those many days the king of Egypt died, and the people of Israel groaned because of their slavery and cried out for help. Their cry for rescue from slavery came up to God.

Exodus 2:23

God appeared to Moses in a burning bush. There He told Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt.

When the Lord saw that Moses turned around to see, God called him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” and he said, “Here I am.”… And the He said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.”

Exodus 3: 4-6

God appeared to the Israelites through the wonders displayed by Moses.

For this time I will send all my plagues on you yourself, and on your servants and your people, so that you may know that there is none like me in all the earth. ¹⁵For by now I could have put out my hand and struck you and your people with pestilence, and you would have been cut off from the earth. But for this purpose I have raised you up, to show you my power, so that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth.

Exodus 9:15-16

MESSAGE: God promised deliverance to the Israelites

The Israelites would be taken to a place free from slavery, a place God has promised to their descendant, Abraham.

I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

Exodus 3:8

CHANNEL: Moses

Moses was delegated to go to the Pharaoh and perform miracles before him so he will let the Israelites go.

“Come I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”

Exodus 3:10

RECEIVER: Israelites and the Egyptians

God gave Moses the ability to do perform signs (frogs, lice, flies, death of livestock, boils, and hail, locusts and darkness) to show the Israelites and Egyptians His power.

Say therefore to the people of Israel, ‘I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from slavery to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great acts of judgment.

Exodus 6:6

FEEDBACK:

After seeing the wonders performed by Moses through God’s power, the Israelites started to have confidence in the deliverance offered to them. They eventually agreed to leave Egypt after several instances of disobedience and disbelief. The Pharaohs also got convinced to let their Israelite slaves to go because of the signs God displayed.

Then the people of Israel went and did so; as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron, and so they did.

Exodus 12:26

(Context: This passage refers to the obedience of the Israelites to the commandments of Moses regarding the Passover—such as the eating of roasted lamb flesh together with unleavened bread with herbs, wiping of blood on doorposts..etc)

The Egyptians were urgent with the people to send them out of the land in haste. For they said, “We shall all be dead.”

My Mom and Aunt were talking about a politician who is currently under controversies when I chimed in, “Hindi ko siya iboboto.”

And then my hands mechanically slapped my face and to my surprise, aloud I said, “Ooops. Di pala ako registered.”

Now I’m thinking of taking the last flight tomorrow no matter how long it takes just so I won’t find myself remorseful seven months from now.

My sisters and I played the Enumerate Game while the lights were out last month during the height of the Typhoon Ondoy.

In the game, players take turn in naming items that correspond to the given category. (Example, for Harry Potter characters, answers would be Hermione, Percy, Moody, Sprout, etc.) Whoever fails to come up with an item, becomes IT. And the IT will open herself to a round of truth or consequence.

My sisters, especially Jho, always make fun of me not knowing too much about science. Just this morn, my Aunt (a doctor) and Jho were talking about the glucoses and the fructoses while we’re eating fruits and I felt so left out. This is what I always get for having a Pharmacist for a mom, a Psychiatrist for a close Aunt, a food technology student and a “Miss Physics” for two younger sisters.

Insomnia attacks at times do me good things. Last night, I finally finished the first book (of seven) my Mom gave me on my birthday last January. The Magician’s Nephew by C.S. Lewis made me literally LOL with all the puns and wordplay.

The book featured how Aslan magically created Narnia with his heavenly songs. Such a lovely beginning. It has made me wonder about how God created our Earth, as it will for sure surpass Lewis’ brainchild a gazillion times.

I’m excited to read the six remaining books in the series though I’ve already read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe in highschool. I also want to finish my current book stack so I can read new titles and explore new worlds and meet loads of other personalities.

I wish I have a very complex brain that can hold a myriad of stories at one given time so I can read all the books I want in a parallel. But that’s like cheating, right? HAHA.

I realized that if there is something I am good at, that would be escaping. I love escaping. I can’t stay in one place for long, in my Aunt’s words, di ako mapirme. Especially when my space’s going up a little crowded, I immediately get the instict to move somewhere else. I’m self-diagnosed claustrophobic, perhaps that’s why.

I’ve had like 10 blogs already (not exaggerating–LJ, another WordPress, diaryland, Multiply, several Blogspots, etc.) and I always leave whenever they become old or known by other people or sometimes when I just don’t like the username/URL anymore. And that’s weird, I know. HAHA. This is not my good-bye-my-beloved-wordpress-account-post. No. Not yet. Not today. Not tomorrow even. No, not soon. Plus, I haven’t come up with a creative url and design so I’m sure I wont leave yet.

Alright. This is pure senseless talk. Bye.
